Key Stage 3+ Agreement
This is our KS3+ Agreement. Before we go into our Dress & Full rehearsals for the show, we ask every secondary school child to read and discuss this with their parent/guardian so they know what is expected of them.
We ask you to do this as we believe they are old enough to understand the reasons why they have to do things differently while at the rehearsal venue and theatre. We will be discussing our expectations of them in class next week and they will be asked to sign this agreement.
If you do not want your child to sign this agreement, or would like to discuss this with us further, please contact Nic at nic@livetodance.co.uk
ASD Show 2025
KS3+ Agreement
This may look like a boring contract that you just need to sign. We do want you to sign it, but more importantly we want you to read it and understand the reason for it.
While you are in our care there are things that you will not be able to do that you would normally expect to do while with your friends. This is because we must follow a specific set of regulations laid down by national law, the local council, and the Wilde Theatre at South Hill Park.
This contract relates to both Sunday full rehearsals (16th & 23rd March), Friday (28th March) evening technical rehearsal and Saturday and Sunday at the Wilde Theatre while you are in our care.
What we are legally required to do -
We will provide you with a safe environment with trained licensed chaperones who will ensure you have the legally required amount of break time, are keeping hydrated and fueled for your busy weekends, and are available for you, should you need any additional assistance.
and what we require you to do –
You must be signed in and out whilst in our care, so that we have a current list of all people on site for fire and safety regulations. This includes both Sunday full rehearsal days at Loddon Hall, as these come under the umbrella of official theatre related activities.
You can’t go ANYWHERE outside of your dressing room without a chaperone. Including the toilet. Even if you have been to the venue many times before and know your way around. The law states that you must always be accompanied by a chaperone (unless you are over 16 and have completed year 11 at school).
Dancers in quick change must also be chaperoned to and from the stage.
Consequences of the law –
We can be checked up on by representatives from Bracknell Council AT ANY TIME to ensure that we are fully compliant with our legal requirements. If we are found to be breaking ANY regulations, the show can be stopped immediately. We may not be allowed to continue with the show EVEN if we are able to put those things right.
MOBILE PHONES – Safeguarding and the law
While you are under theatre regulations and in our care, we are bound by safeguarding regulations and have to ensure that no child is put in a potentially vulnerable position. This means we have a legal duty to protect the privacy of you and all the other students. You CANNOT post photographs on the internet or any social media/chat sites without the express permission of the PARENTS of everyone in the photograph. This includes people in the background of any photo. For the safety of everyone and to set a positive example for younger students, we ask you to agree with the following rules:
- AT LODDON HALL - you can use your phones during your breaks, but only when you are not in a designated changing or rehearsal area.
- AT SOUTH HILL PARK - once you have been signed in to the care of the chaperones, you will exclusively be in either a designated changing, rehearsal or performance area (including corridors etc.). Therefore, at sign in, your phone must be put away in your bag and not taken out until you are signed out.
- If we see you using your phone when you shouldn’t be, it will be confiscated and returned to your parents when you sign out.
At the theatre -
- Electricals – You cannot bring any electrical items that require a plug (including mobile phone chargers, hair straighteners/curlers) unless they have a current PAT test and sticker. Cordless items are okay to bring.
GREEN ROOM AREA for Overs/Unders
- The green room seating area is not for the use of children, students or chaperones. It is out of bounds for everyone except the tech crew.
- Dressing room doors need to be kept closed at all times because of staff in the green room seating area
Performer Etiquette – our promise
We will treat you with respect, and we expect the same from you, for all the South Hill Park staff and all the show volunteers that are here for you. Please remember that all the adults have given up their time to ensure that you have an enjoyable experience and make a lifetime memory.
The rules we expect you to follow are not because we want to treat you ‘like children’ but because we MUST follow them to abide by the law.
I agree to do my part for the good of the whole school and to support the show. I understand why it is important I am visible to my chaperone at all times and follow their instructions during 2025 ASD rehearsals and shows. I also agree to follow the rules regarding mobile phone usage and keep the performer’s etiquette promise.
