The London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art (LAMDA) is the oldest drama examining board in the United Kingdom and examinations are designed to equip candidates, whatever their age and aspirations, with a range of skills that will serve them throughout their life. Preparation for the exam can unlock the imagination, develop comminucation skills, refine artistry and develop self-confidence. Scott Jenkins runs LAMDA acting classes on Thursday evenings at Willow Bank Junior School in Woodley. The weekly classes follow a simple format, including vocal techniques and excercises, quick thinking excercises, colouring of words, mime, actions, specific games, tongue twisters and memorising. These classes which are geared towards taking examinations, are small group lessons of 45 minutes (maximum 6 children). Classes run at 6pm and 6.45pm.
